Ex Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been desribed in Blair's memoirs as having no "emotional intelligence" and as "maddening"!
Many folks wonder if he (Brown) has had a Charisma by pass operation particularly the poor Labour supporter he called a bigot in last years election.
Until very recently Ex PM Gordon Brown has kept his own counsel about his predecessor Blair.
When speasking recently Ex Labour Prime Minister Gordon Brown made an attack on the use of religious faith to help justify political decisions and that has been understood to be a direct attack on Tony Blair.
When speaking recently at Lambeth Palace Ex PM Gordon Brown addressed clergy among them was the Archbishop of Canterbury , Dr Rowan Williams, and Brown attacked politicians who claimed to be "holier than thou" and who had claimed religious justification for their actions.
Whilst Tony Blair was still in office as the British Labour Prime Minister he stated that many of his decisions including invading Iraq were influenced by his faith.
I cannot really believe this as a real man of faith would not go to war with out properly having exhausted all possible alternatives. Most certainly not for WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) that simply did not exist and on absolutely no account to merely be George Bush's partner in crime.
No man of true faith could possibly commit human lives to the misery of war only some one who pehaps needs an excuse to justify a failed decision.
Close political associates have said his decisions to go to war in Kosovo,Sierra Leone and Iraq were part of a religious battle. I can understand and agree with the first two where I have no doubt that helped to make a positive contribution to the people of those country's.
How ever the plan to invade Iraq a country of which one had no real knowledge combined with the lack of a proper exit plan was undoubtedly a foolhardy mistake.
How could one be so silly to invade a country such as Iraq when there were still operations unfinished in Afghanistan.
Only a total fool starts a war on two fronts.
This foolishness cannot be inspired by Religion it must be inspired by the desire for power.
Tony Blair has put Britain into more conflicts than any other Prime Minister.
When Ex Labour PM Gordon Brown was asked, when appearing, before the Chilcot enquiry about the decision to invade Iraq he stated "It was the right decision and it was for the right reasons,".
But that of course was when he was about to fight an election and no doubt wanted to appear as if he was united with his predecessor Tony Blair.
But united with his predecessor Tony Blair is something that never seemed to apply to the then Chancellor of the Exchequer when in government.
As but one example he did not even see the Cabinet Office options paper which had been prepared in March 2002.
He did not attend the meeting at Chequers in April 2002, which was just before Tony Blair left to meet George W Bush at the Crawford ranch in the USA.
Gordon Brown was also missing from a key meeting on 23rd July 2002, presumably coming up with some more stealth taxes having already ruined the UK pensions industry.
Most unbelievable of all, the then Chancellor of the Exchequer, the second most senior member of the Government, did not even see the legal opinion written by the Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith, on 7th March 2003, questioning the legality of the war. How can this be?
From this history of events, not being at meetings, not seeing memos and ignorance it would not have surprised me to hear Gordon Brown say that he had found out about the invasion of Iraq from the milkman.
This is the man who always takes no reponsibility and has the cheek to criticise Tony Blair.
On no account am I defending the war scroundel Blair but here was the man who could have done something if he was a a man and not a mouse.
He was the second most important person in the Cabinet but he failed the task as usual.
It could be just that Gordon Brown is being, as usual, economical with the truth or this is simply yet another confirmation that Tony Blair run a totally dysfunctional government.
What ever the reason way I could never support Ed Miliband the new Labour party leader.
